In short
- Tradify charges for every user, so six people on Pro cost about £222 a month against £49 on Fieldfare.
- Fieldfare has clocking in and out and holiday allowances, which Tradify's own help centre says it doesn't offer.
- Tradify is stronger on invoicing from the field and card payments. Fieldfare's invoices are simple PDFs, or it reads them from Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
How Fieldfare and Tradify compare

Cost for an owner and five staff
Recurring jobs need Tradify's Pro plan at £37 per user, so six people come to £222 a month. Add three seasonal staff in spring and it is £333 while they are with you.
The same team on Fieldfare is £49 a month, seasonal staff and subcontractor logins included. Storage is 50 GB, then £5 a month for each extra 50 GB.
Working alone, Tradify Pro at £37 is the cheaper of the two. With one employee it is £74 a month.
Clocking in, holidays and safety paperwork
Tradify's help centre says it doesn't offer clocking in and out, and leave is logged as a timesheet entry with no allowance behind it. If you pay staff by the hour, their hours and holiday end up on a separate spreadsheet.
On Fieldfare, staff clock in and out on their phones, odd times are flagged for you to check, and on Friday the week goes to payroll as an export. Holidays are booked against each person's allowance, and bank holidays for your part of the UK come off automatically.
Tradify's UK certificates cover electrical, gas and fire work. There's a RAMS and COSHH library for gardening work such as strimming, hedge cutting and herbicides, with staff sign-offs and spray records against each job.

Regular visits and sites
Most visits on a maintenance round repeat weekly or fortnightly. Set each one up once and it fills the calendar as dated jobs. Move one client's Thursday visit to Friday and the rest of the pattern stays as it was.
Each site keeps its own access, parking and green waste notes, photos and visit history, so whoever turns up knows the gate code and where the bins go.
Where Tradify is strong
Tradify is good at invoicing from the field. Quotes and invoices go out by email or text, customers accept online and pay by card on site, and invoices flow into Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
Invoices on Fieldfare are simple PDFs that you mark as paid. If you use Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, connect it and the invoices and payments are read across, so each client's history is complete. Clients pay you directly, so there are no per-payment fees. More on that in our invoicing guide.
Questions people ask before switching
Is Fieldfare cheaper than Tradify?
For a team, yes. Six people on Tradify Pro cost about £222 a month against Fieldfare's £49, though one person alone pays less on Tradify.
Does Tradify have clocking in and out?
Not at the time of writing. Its help centre says it records time with job timers and manual entries instead.
Can Fieldfare send invoices to Xero like Tradify?
No. Fieldfare reads invoices and payments from Xero, QuickBooks or Sage but never sends anything to them, so nothing in your accounts changes.
Can I bring my clients across from Tradify?
Yes. Export your client list as a spreadsheet, import it, then set up your regular visits as recurring jobs. Winter, when the round is quiet, is the easiest time.
