For your staff

Clock in and out

Clock in when you start work and out when you finish, and your hours add up for you.

Your hours come from clocking in and out on the Timesheets tab. You don't type them in, and the office uses them for your pay.

Clocking in is for your working day as a whole. Starting a job records your time on that job. They're separate, so do both.

Your working day

Tap Clock in when you start work, and the app shows the time you clocked in. Tap Clock out when you finish for the day.

If you don't see Clock in, your business doesn't use clocking in on the app.

Breaks

There's no break button. You can clock out and back in again during the day, and each stretch counts towards your hours. Your business will tell you how it wants breaks handled.

Location

If your business records location, the app saves where you are when you clock in and when you clock out. Starting and finishing a job saves your location too. The app doesn't follow you in between, and only owners and admins can see it.

Clocking in never waits for your location, and it still works if you don't allow location on your phone.

Seeing your hours

Your Week total is at the top. Use the arrows either side to look back at other weeks. Each day shows the hours you worked, and a note when something's different.

  • Clocked in now: you're still clocked in today.
  • Not clocked out: an earlier day was never closed.
  • Time off: a holiday or other time off was booked for you.
  • A bank holiday shows its name on the day.
  • Clocked, with a time: you were clocked in for longer than counts, for example because your business only counts time from a set start time.

Looking at a day

Tap a day to see each clock in and clock out time under Clock in / out. Any holiday or other time off for that day shows under Other entries.

When a time is wrong

You can't change your own times. Tell your manager the right times and they'll correct them.

If you forget to clock out, the day shows Not clocked out and you can't clock in again until it's closed. Tap Clock out, then tell your manager when you really finished. If you stay clocked in for 24 hours, the clock stops on its own, and those hours don't count until your manager enters the real finish time.

Holidays

Holidays are booked by the office, not on the app. Once booked they show on your timesheet on the right days, with the hours added. Ask your manager if you want time off.

Questions

Can I clock in without signal?

Yes. The app saves it with the time you tapped and sends it when you're back online.

Do I still need to clock in if I start a job?

Yes. Starting a job records your time on that job, not your working day.

Can my manager see where I am all day?

No. If your business records location, the app only saves it when you clock in or out, and when you start or finish a job.

Can I book holiday on the app?

No. Ask your manager, and once it's booked it shows on your timesheet.
